For more than three decades, Corelle products have epitomized the definition of durability and quality. What makes Corelle Livingware and Corelle Ultra so durable and versatile is vitrelle brand glass, composed of a unique, technologically advanced material. In a one of a kind manufacturing facility in Corning, New York, Corelle thermally bonds three layers of glass together, forms the shapes and then tempers the glass to give its final strength. You'll never need to worry about fading, scraping, scratching, or wearing off. Corelle… beautiful today¿.. Beautiful for years to come.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly What I Wanted   August 21, 2010
T. K. Smith
After 15 years of Corelle ware, my husband and I decided we wanted table service "A little more sophisticated" and purchased some very nice, fairly pricey stone ware. Service for 12 quickly became full settings for 5, a few extra bowls and saucers all with a few chips and cracks in them. We couldn't use the plates to heat things in the microwave because the plates would become scorching hot. It was time for yet another change. We searched again for table ware, and decided we needed to go back to Corelle. We searched through the Corelle website for designs we liked that would match our decor, and decided the Urban Red was perfect for us. We ordered 3 sets and waited anxiously for them to arrive. I'm very happy we did! The Corelle is lighter and more compact than the stoneware, taking up half the space in my cabinet. It's been dropped into the sink and onto the floor with no ill effects. We will never switch to stoneware again!

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful , retro very inexpensive dinnerware   August 18, 2010

I have used Corelle dinnerware as long as I have been home making.I remember growing up my mother used it as well.I love the thin design as it makes for stacking easily. The mugs may be stoneware but I happen to like that for a change.I am planning on buying another set for myself and one for my son as well. For the price why would anyone complain? These last forever! The only reason I buy new ones is for a change in colors and decor.

3 out of 5 stars Disappointed for a different reason   July 20, 2010

In an effort to buy domestic, I was very happy to hear and then read that Corelle dishes are made in the USA. Bought two sets of these to have service for 8. They arrived on time as promised. They looked pretty good even though, thanks to the reviews I knew in advance that the mugs were not of the same durable material. I put them thru the dishwasher and all was good until I started to empty the machine and noticed the bottom of the mugs. Yep, they were made in China! I find it misleading and upsetting because as far as I could see there is nothing that states this in the description on Amazon OR Corelle site.

5 out of 5 stars Great purchase for a reasonable price   June 29, 2010

Bought two sets for my mom and she loves them. I personally like the weight and heft of a stoneware mug so no complaints there. The design is adorable and really eye catching. Colors are bright and true.

4 out of 5 stars Very nice, but not Perfect   June 28, 2010

These dishes are very nice for the price. You can't beat the Corelle name or reputation. Getting 16 pieces for a little more than $20 is quite a steal. There are a few things to note, however, if you are planning to order this dishware:

1) The dishes don't all stack tightly. There is a slight variation with the plates that they don't sit perfectly flush when you stack them.

2) There may be some small bubbles and imperfections underneath the plates & bowls.

3) The mugs are stoneware, not what the rest of the set is made with. This makes them suseptible to breakage. This doesn't bother me at all (mugs aren't expensive), but should be mentioned.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase for the price I paid. These dishes would make a great starter kit for a college student or someone moving into their first place.
